WIFI connect your Cisco Phone

These instructions will guide you through connecting your Cisco 8861 or 8865 phone to a WIFI network.

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Disconnect Ethernet Power: Unplug the Ethernet cable from the phone if one is present.
2. Connect Power: Connect the phone to its wall power adapter. 
3. Access Settings: Press the Information and settings button (the gear icon) on the phone. 
4. Go to Wi-Fi Configuration:
   • Navigate to Network Configuration. 
   • Select Wi-Fi configuration. 
5. Scan for Networks:
   • Tap Scan to get a list of available Wi-Fi networks (SSIDs). 
6. Select Network and Enter Password:
   • From the list, select the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to. 
   • Enter the network's password when prompted. 
7. Connect: Press Connect to join the Wi-Fi network. 

Important Considerations:

• Power Source:

  The Wi-Fi radio only functions when the phone is powered by the wall adapter, not by Power over Ethernet (PoE). 

• Stable Connection:

  For a stable connection, ensure the Wi-Fi signal strength shows at least three bars on the phone's screen. 

• Network Requirements:

  You cannot join networks that require a sign-in via a landing page. 

• Single Network Memory:

  The phone typically only remembers one network at a time. Changing networks will require re-entering the password.
