Add a campus printer on Windows
📘 Overview
You can add LETU campus printers and copiers to a university Windows PC from the LETU print server, \\printers. This article shows you how to add a Find-Me queue or a direct queue for a specific copier, and how to confirm it works. Setup takes about two minutes. To decide which type to add, see Find-Me vs Direct Printing: Which one should I use?

Printer name
What it does
Add it when
LETU-FindMe-BlackandWhite
Holds your black and white job until you release it at any PaperCut copier with your ID card
You want to pick up your pages at any copier, or you are printing something confidential
LETU-FindMe-Color
Holds your color job until you release it at any PaperCut copier with your ID card
You need color and want to pick up your pages at any copier
A copier name such as AFSC-123-CIF-C3126
Prints right away on that one copier
The copier is near you and you will collect the pages straight away
Copier names start with a building and room code, so you can find the one nearest you.
💡 Tip: You can add more than one. Many people keep both Find-Me printers and the copier nearest their office installed, then choose in the print dialog each time.
➕ 3. Add a printer from the print server
- Press the Windows key + R to open the Run box.
- Type \\printers and select OK. A window opens with the list of campus printers.
- Find your printer. To narrow the list, type part of the name, such as FindMe or AFSC-123, in the search box at the top right of the window.
- Double-click the printer. Windows connects to it and installs the driver. The first time can take up to a minute.
- When the window stops showing progress, the printer is ready. It now appears in the Printer list when you print from any app.
📝 Note: If Windows asks whether you trust the printer, select Install driver.
✅ 4. Print a test page
- Open any document, such as a Notepad file.
- Select File > Print.
- In the Printer list, select the printer you added, then select Print.
- Collect your pages, based on the type of printer:

Printer type

What happens next
Find-Me
Nothing prints yet. Go to any PaperCut copier, sign in with your ID card, and select Print Release. Choose your account if the job shows Account needed, then release the job.
Direct (copier name)
The job prints right away. If a PaperCut pop-up appears on your computer asking which account to charge, choose the account and confirm. The job waits until you answer.

❓ 6. Troubleshooting
Problem
What to try
Windows says it can't find \\printers
Check that you are on the campus network. Confirm you typed two backslashes at the start.
I can't find my copier in the list
Search for the building and room code and call the ServiceDesk if you can't find the right copier.
My Find-Me job didn't print
This is expected. Find-Me jobs wait until you sign in and release them at a PaperCut copier.
My direct job didn't print
This may happen because you are setup to bill your print jobs to more than one account. Look for a PaperCut pop-up on your computer asking you to choose an account. Then check the copier screen for paper or toner messages.
