Department Names, Codes, and Extensions

Note: This article documents abbreviations connected to legacy processes which are coded to use abbreviations for legacy teams and departments referencing "Traditional and Nontraditional" - as such the documentation below documents the original purpose of these abbreviations. As we complete migration off these terms across LETU systems and as updates are made to department and team descriptions the article below will be updated. 

Purpose

• Departments are organized in a hierarchy according to Cabinet > Division > Department.
• Standardized codes are used to reference departments in LETU Technology systems (e.g. Email, Phones, Access Control, File Sharing, and other systems).
• You may noticed that some departments exist at all three levels. This is a technical requirement of LETU's hierarchy.

Cabinet/Division/Department Names, HR Department Codes, and Phone Extensions

New development should use these codes. Keep in mind that these codes can and do change during any LETU reorganization or name changes. The list below is not comprehensive. Codes may exist not yet documented below or may not yet be finalized for some departments. If you are uncertain the code for an area or represent a department needing to formalize a code, please make a request at https://servicedesk.letu.edu.

Legacy HR Department Codes

These codes are provided for reference only. You are likely to see these codes in use in Active Directory, Public folders in Outlook, and on \\letnet.net department file shares. New development should use the current codes.in the table above.
