How-to Forward Calls from Cell Phone to Another Number

1) From an iPhone -

Follow these instructions to turn ON Call Forwarding using the Apple Interface :

This will forward all inbound calls to the number you specify, it lasts until the feature has been turned off.

• • Open Settings and choose “Phone”
  • Tap “Call Forwarding” and flip to ON
  • In the text field box, enter the phone number you want to forward all incoming calls to
  • Tap back and exit out of Settings for changes to take effect

As soon as a number is entered, the calls will start forwarding. The example shown is forwarding calls to a number

that doesn’t exist:

You will always know the iPhone is forwarding calls because of the small phone icon in the title bar with an arrow

Turning Off Call Forwarding

Switching off forwarding is even easier than turning it on:

• • Go back to Settings and choose “Phone” again
  • Tap “Call Forwarding” and flip the switch to OFF

The phone icon should disappear from the title bar, and the iPhone will accept inbound phone calls and ring again.

(For Samsung and other Android devices, search "call forwarding" to find if this option is included in your interface, and follow the instructions.)

 

2) Using the Dial * option for ALL Verizon phones -

Follow these instructions to turn ON Call Forwarding using the keypad if you do not have the

Call Forwarding option built-in to your interface -

1. • Dial *72.
      
   • Dial the phone number (including area code) where you want your calls to be forwarded to (e.g., *72-908-123-4567
     forwards your call to 908.123.4567).
      
   • Press the Call button and wait for confirmation. You should hear a confirmation tone or message.
      
   • End your call.
      
    
   Turn Off Call Forwarding -
    
   • Dial *73.
      
   • Press the Call button and wait for confirmation. You should hear a confirmation tone or message. 
      
   • End your call.

3) Using the Dial * option for AT&T phones -

  Follow these instructions to turn ON Call Forwarding using the keypad -

1. • Dial **21*, followed by the 10-digit number you wish to forward the calls to, then dial#. (e.g., **21*123-555-6789#
     forwards your call to 123.555.6789).
      
   • Push the Call, Send, Talk, or Receiver icon.
      
   • Your wireless phone displays a confirmation message when Call Forwarding activates.
      

   Turn Off Call Forwarding -

    
   • Dial #21#.
      
   • Push the Call, Send, Talk, or Receiver icon.
      
   • Your wireless device displays a confirmation message when Call Forwarding deactivates.
