Connecting with Windows 10

This article covers how to connect to LetNet wireless using Windows 10.
 
To connect to LetNet wireless your computer must have a wireless adapter that supports connections via Protected EAP (PEAP) security.
 
Some computers may have a built-in third-party wireless utility that controls your computer's wireless connections.  We do not support how to connect through this software.  Please disable any third-party wireless management utilities and follow these instructions to use Windows 10. 
 
Security Settings:
SSID: letnet (must be all lowercase)
Network Authentication: WPA2 (Enterprise)
Data Encryption: AES
Authentication Type: PEAP
802.1X: Enabled
click on the wireless icon in the lower right corner, in the taskbar, and look for letnet
 
click on letnet, make sure connect automatically is selected, and click connect
 
enter your LETNET credentials, and hit ok (ex. JohnSmith)
 
If Windows asks for confirmation, click Connect
 
you should be fully connected!

Important Reminder
 
Remember to change your saved password anytime you change your password, to prevent getting locked out of your account.
 
If the above steps do not work, try the manual method.
 
click on the wireless icon in the lower right corner, in the taskbar, and then click on network settings.
 
In network settings, click on 'Network and Sharing Center"
 
in the Network and Sharing center, click on "Set up a New Connection or Network"
 
Select "Manually Connect to a Wireless Network," and then click next
 
Enter "letnet" for the network name, and Select "WPA2-Enterprise" as the security type. Check "Start this connection automatically," and then click Next
 
After adding the network, click on "Change connection settings."
 
In the Security tab, ensure the network authentication method is set to "Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP)", and click on the settings button to the right of it.
 
Ensure the Authentication method is set to "Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)," and click the configure button to the right of it
 
Ensure that the Checkbox in the popup is unchecked, and click ok
 
Click ok.
 
In the Security tab, Click on Advanced settings
 
Switch user authentication mode to "User authentication", and click on "Save credentials"
 
Enter your letnet username and password, with "letnet\" preceding your username (ex. letnet\JohnSmith), and click OK
 
Click OK
