LeTourneau University collaboration systems should not be used for the exchange of protected classes of personal information (i.e. Social Security Numbers, bank accounts, etc).
This includes systems such as Email, OneDrive, Teams, Sharepoint or other collaborative systems not authorized for the secure transmission and storage of protected classes of information. Please consult LETU Policy 6.2: Data Classification for more information on LETU's policies on secure treatment of regulated data and approved secure locations for storage and exchange of such data.
Select LETU Collaboration systems monitor for uses of certain classes of data in collaborative sessions and may take action on such messages including warnings or preventing the transmission of restricted data. However users are responsible for ensuring they are aware of and follow any applicable regulations or policies on the inclusion of protected information in such communications.
Classes of information included in this restriction include but are not limited to the following general categories (some items may appear in more than one category):
