Windows 11 - How Do I Re-Sync My OneDrive/Sharepoint Folders

OneDrive Syncing

Generally speaking, the OneDrive associated with your username will automatically continue to sync to the updated version of Windows or if you receive a new LETU owned computer with Windows 11 on it.  What likely will need to happen in both cases is to re-add the "Quick Access" links you've added to appear in the tab to the left of your file browser.

To start, open "File Explorer" and look around on the left pane until you see "Yourself - LeTourneau University".

Clicking the little arrow to the left will expand the file structure under your OneDrive or you can click that link and your right pane will display the file structure as well.  From there, just navigate to the folders you use most frequently and want to add.  When you right click the folder you'll be given the option to "Pin to Quick Access". 

Clicking this will add it on the left pane "permanently" or until you decide you don't want it there any more.  To make it disappear, you can click the little gray pin to the right of the folder.

Sharepoint Syncing

Sharepoint folders require a slightly different approach that OneDrive so to do this you'll need to open a web browser and navigate to the LETU Sharepoint.  Once you're there, hover your mouse over the "Departments" drop-down and select your respective department.

When it pulls up the site for your department, looking across the top menu, you'll see a "Documents" tab. Clicking this will show the folder structure and give you a few more options, one of which is "Sync".  At this point, you may want to sync your entire sharepoint file directory, but you can also go to each individual folder and sync them should you choose.  It will only sync folders you have access to.

When you click "Sync" a couple of dialogue boxes will pop up.  Clicking "Open" on the top one will allow the shortcut to be added to your file explorer menu.  You can close the second box and navigate to your file explorer to check that it's been added.

Once it's added to the file explorer, scrolling down on the left pane will show you all sharepoint associated syncing under "LeTourneau University".  This does not take up any hard drive space unless you navigate to and open specific documents.

Repeat this as necessary for any folders you want to sync.
