Configuring Your LETU Mac Part 1: Setup Assistant

📘 Overview

This guide covers what to expect the first time you power on your LETU-issued Mac. Enrollment will begin itself during Setup Assistant and will simply require authentication to LETU Single Sign-On.  

Before you begin, you will need the following:

  • Your LETU email address (username) and password
  • Your phone with the Microsoft Authenticator app installed, for MFA
  • A Wi-Fi connection

💡 This portion of the setup takes between 5-10 minutes to complete.

🔢 Steps

  1. Power on the Mac and work through the initial setup assistant screens.
    • Language
    • Country
    • Transfer Your Data to This Mac - You'll need to select "Set up as new"
    • Accessibility
  2. You will get to "Select Your Wi-Fi Network"
    • Connect to "letnet" (letnet-connect will also work)
      • use your username and password for LETU to sign on.
  3. Once this connects you'll be taken to a Device Management screen.  This lets you know the device is managed by LETU.  Click the button that says "Enroll" and the device will begin downloading our LETU management profiles an policies onto the machine.  
  4. As these are loading, you'll see a window pop up that looks like an LETU SSO portal.  Complete the sign in using your LETU Username and Password.  You will also be prompted to complete the MFA requirement.  Completing this will continue loading the profile and register the device to you.
  5. The next screen will have you create the local account for the device. Once you're done, click "Continue".
    • You can select any profile icon you want.
    • Your username will already be populated based off your LETU Username.
    • The password it's asking for can be whatever you choose
      • ONLY FOR USE ON THIS DEVICE.
      • no password requirements, just something you can remember easily
  6. Next it will ask you to select your time-zone.
    • You can select "Set Automatically"
    • Turn on Location Services (you should then see it put a red pin at your relative location)
    • Select Continue
  7. The next screen will be for setting up TouchID (this is optional, but valuable)
  8. Once that's done, you'll have a button to select "Get Started" which you can click.
