The speed grader shows the error message of "Document could not be converted Please download it instead"
When the document is downloaded from the speed grader and opened it either reports that the file had been corrupted or contains odd code like text.
The original uncorrupted submission can be found by opening the Turnitin report.
Or the submission can be downloaded from the Turnitin Assignment Inbox
Open the Turnitin assignment by clicking on the name of the assignment.
Click the button to open the Turnitin tool in a new tab.
Once there you will see a list of student submissions. (If no students submissions are there it will be blank)
Click on the (...) and then download to see the students paper.
Note: If it is before the due date, you do have the option of asking your student to re-upload their submission. (Please remember that is issue is not the student's fault when you are asking them). This option is only valid if the instructor has their Turnitin settings set to match LETU recommended settings (Turnitin Settings in Canvas).
