VPN Remote Office Phone Setup

Wireless Setup

  1. Power up the phone:

                This is commonly done with an ethernet power injector that only has a connection going out to the phone, no data coming in.

  1. Turn on WIFI
    1. Open the applications (gear button) on the remote office phone and choose Admin settings. 
    2. Go to Network Setup
    3. Wi-Fi client Setup
    4. Turn "on" Wireless
    5. Turn "on" Wi-Fi sign-in access
    6. Go to Network Name
    7. Select your home network and enter the password through the keypad when prompted.

  1. Enable VPN
    1. Open the applications (gear button) on the remote office phone. 
    2. Open the VPN menu and turn the VPN on by changing the "VPN Enabled" option to "on".

If issues occur, please ensure that TFTP is set up properly on the IP Phone. A detailed procedure is below.

Setting up TFTP

  1. VPN Shutdown
    1. Open the applications (gear button) on the remote office phone. 
    2. Open the VPN menu and tun the VPN off by pressing the "off" button. You will receive a message on screen once the VPN is disabled
    3. Go back out to the main menu by pressing "exit"
  2. TFTP Setup
    1. Go to "Admin Settings"
    2. Go to "Network Setup"
    3. Go to "Ethernet Setup"
    4. Go to "IPv4 Setup"
    5. Scroll down to number 8 or "Alternate TFTP"
    6. Press the "On" Button
    7. On line 9 or "TFTP Server 1" click on the center button of the Navigation Ring and enter "10.203.32.210" ("." indicates right arrow)
      1. If prompted with a warning press continue
    8. On line 10 or "TFTP Server 2" click on the center button of the Navigation Ring and enter "10.203.32.200" ("." indicates right arrow)
      1. If prompted with a warning press continue
    9. Press "Apply"
    10. Press "Exit"
  3. VPN Enable
    1. Go back to VPN settings and turn it back on.
    2. When you receive the "VPN enabled" message click exit until you are back to your phones home screen
  4. Finishing the Setup
    1. The phone should register and the TFTP server should be enabled after completing the above steps
    2. If the phone continues to reside on the blue registering page, unplug it and plug it back in.
