Qualifying for a LETU Account

Types of Relationships with LETU

LeTourneau University issues technology accounts to individuals based on one of four current possible relationships with the University:
Student, Employees, Volunteers, or Contractor/Consultants.

These classifications are not types of accounts, rather they are four types of relationships an individual may have with LETU more broadly. Technology accounts are one of many possible LETU-wide benefits which are available when an individual is approved by the appropriate department for a classification below.

Qualifying for an Account

In order to have an account, an individual must meet one of these four classifications. Accounts are created automatically when LETU systems detect that an authoritative department (listed below) has authorized an individual for a classification.

The Information Technology team cannot create any accounts directly, approve any of the classifications below, preserve access where authoritative departments have removed it, or otherwise create accounts outside of these four classifications. However we can help you connect with the departments which are able to approve each classification.

Similarly, department contacts listed below cannot typically assist you outside their area of expertise (ie the Volunteer Services or HR teams cannot advise you on whether a former employee could be approved as a Contractor. However the Accounting team can assist you in exploring that option).

How to Request a Classification for an Individual

Click the links under each section for information on the authoritative department to contact for setting up each classification.

WIRELESS: Official LETU Accounts are not necessary for guest wireless access at LETU. Instead, guest wireless accounts are created by departments around campus as needed. See this article for more information on requesting a temporary guest wireless account.
